I'm Wes Taylor, the owner of Wes Toolworks. I'm a disabled Army veteran and software engineer in Washington.
I think software should work more like a trade.
You shouldn't need a giant software project to fix one frustrating part of your business.
I want to see how the work actually gets done first. Then I look for the smallest practical solution that makes it better.
Sometimes that's custom software. Sometimes it's an automation, an integration, or a better way to use tools you already have.
I served in the U.S. Army. The Army taught me to understand the mission, work with what I have, and solve the problem in front of me.
Apparently, sometimes the problem was chickens.
Then I learned to build software.

After the Army, I went to Seattle University and earned my degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.
That's where I learned how to build software. The Army had already taught me something just as important — how to look at a problem, figure out what actually matters, and get to work.
I spent the next several years building software.
While I was at Seattle University, I interned as a software engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
After graduation, I went on to work across software development, frontend development, API testing, and test automation at companies including Infoblox and Costco Travel.
Over time, I kept coming back to the same idea: the best solution isn't necessarily the biggest one. It's the one that actually solves the problem.

After years of building software inside larger organizations, I wanted to try something different.
I started Wes Toolworks to help small businesses and nonprofits solve technology problems that are too small for a giant software project, but too frustrating to keep ignoring.
My approach is simple: come see how you work, understand the problem, and build the smallest practical solution that fixes it.
Sometimes that's custom software. Sometimes it's automation. Sometimes it's fixing something you already have. And sometimes the right answer is that you don't need new software at all.
I'm not here to sell you more technology. I'm here to solve the problem.
